PHILIPPIANS 4

Christ….Christ….Christ….Christ

  • The message of our ministry is the gospel of Christ (chap. 1).

  • The model for our ministry is the example of Christ (chap. 2).

  • The motive for our ministry is the reward of Christ (chap. 3).

  • The means of our ministry is the provision of Christ (chap. 4).

  • He provides peace when we are prone to worry (vv. 6–9).

If we pray as we should pray and think as we should remember,

the peace of God will guard us, and the God of peace will go with us.

He provides the power we need for life and service (vv. 10–13).

He provides the material needs we have as well (vv. 14–20).

Paul did not have a wealthy organization giving him support,

however, he did have a great God who enabled generous friends to meet his needs.

Paul saw their gift as a fragrant sacrifice to the Lord (v. 18),

moreover, he rejoiced in the Lord for what they did.

 Over-comers  Revelation 2

Overcomes v5 Overcomes v12 Overcomes v21

How do you call to be an overcomer?  If you answered, you might say:
I am the best one in the group. You might not say that. Next, I am the best prayer warrior in the church. You might not say that. Next, I am a great preacher. You might not say that. Next, I am a, or the great singer.  You might not say that. Next, I am the excellent bible reader in the church. You might not say that. Next, I am a suitable donor. You might not say that. Next, I travel distance to go to Church. You might not say that. Next, I involve group-ism, etc.
True believers who overcome the world and keep His commandments and follow the model of Christ
(1 John 5:1–5). They are the over-comers.
Overcomers were in the Old Testament, known as the follower of God and His word and His commandments. The history declared it.
There was a tree in the Garden of Eden if anybody eats the fruit from it, would die. God preserve the fruit that kept it for the overcomers in life. There is a tree of experience in the Paradise; the overcomers would eat from it (Rev. 2:7)

They would also be granted the kingdom of the throne (3:21).

Let’s discern the church as the whole.
It doesn’t matter how spiritual the church becomes. It doesn't matter how nonspiritual

an assembly may become.
Christ will always honor those who belong to Him and faithful to His Word.

Oh! Our church is great, we have 100 families, we have lots of friends, and our

church is the biggest in the valley.

If you were honest, trustworthy, faithful, respectful to the word, you would be

in the paradise with Jesus.

Four times mentioned Overcomes in Revelation 2. V7;  v11; v17; v26

          By Rev. Abraham Zechariah

1st Sunday of July.

    Hope and Trust.

"The Lord has certainly helped us!"

The men of Kiriath-jearim came to get the Ark of the Lord. They took it to the hillside home of Abinadab and ordained Eleazar, his son, to be in charge of it. The Ark remained in Kiriath-jearim for twenty years. During that time all Israel mourned because it seemed the Lord had abandoned them.

Then Samuel said to all the people of Israel, "If you are serious about wanting to return to the Lord, get rid of your foreign gods and your images of Ashtoreth. Determine to obey only the Lord; then he will rescue you from the Philistines."

So the Israelites got rid of their images of Baal and Ashtoreth and worshiped only the Lord.

Then Samuel told them, "Gather all of Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the Lord for you."

So they gathered at Mizpah and, in a grand ceremony, drew water from a well and poured it out before the Lord. They also went without food all day and confessed that they had sinned against the Lord.

1 Samuel 7:12

Cleaning up

The ark had been returned to Israel, but Israel had not returned to the Lord, so Samuel called them to repentance. They put away their foreign gods and then met at Mizpah to renew their covenant with the Lord. For years, God had been preparing Samuel for this strategic ministry, and he rescued the nation.

Looking up

The Philistines thought that the assembly at Mizpah was preparation for war; however, Israel was not equipped for battle. However, God’s people use spiritual weapons to defeat the enemy: Samuel prayed, and God sent the enemy back in confusion. Samuel was born in answer to prayer, and he lived in dependence on prayer.

Setting up

Ebenezer means “stone of help.” It was a memorial to God’s helping His people from the beginning to that very day. Missionary J. Hudson Taylor had a plaque in his home that read, EBENEZER and JEHOVAH-JIREH. That means, “Thus far the Lord has helped us—The Lord will see to it.” He takes care of the past and the future, so why worry about the present? God is in control.

Hold on the points above and look on some encouraging information given below.

1 Samuel 7:12 (TLB)
Samuel then took a stone and placed it between Mizpah and Jeshanah (N. Jerusalem) and named it Ebenezer meaning, ("the Stone of Help"), he said, "The Lord has certainly helped us!"

Let us check the fact: (Gen 31.49-50); it refers to it as a pillar of stones set up by Jacob and Laban. The component of rocks acted as a witness to the bond between the two men.

As Laban said, "The Lord watch between you and me, when we are absent one from the other, remember, God will always protect you and me." That is the reason that Mizpah has often been interpreted as signifying an emotional bond between people who are separated, either physically by distance or by death.

We at Mizpah believe firmly in the bond between all our dear friends. Our desire would be the well-being of body, mind, and spirit of our clients.

Repentance and faith in the Lord’s redemption always bring a manifestation of the Lord as Ebenezer (‘the stone of help’). Jesus is the living Stone. 1Peter 2:4; Eph. 2:20

Radical missionary James Hudson Taylor was a British Protestant Christian missionary to China and founder of the China Inland Mission. Taylor spent 51 years in China.

Missionary J. Hudson Taylor had a plaque in his home that read, EBENEZER and JEHOVAH-JIREH. That means, “Thus far the Lord has helped us—The Lord will see to it.” He takes care of the past, and the future, so why worry about the present?

When the Lord sent them without purse, bag, and shoes, they didn’t lack in anything.   Moreover, Let us repeat it, “nothing." Because God has been helping them always, therefore, they rejoice in the Lord.
It is best to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is good to believe in the Lord than to put assurance in princes. I am happy because the God of Jacob helped me. My Lord led me, in the right way, and I will go into the city of hope. My God shall not and will not withhold any good things from the house of Israel.
Are you included in this same group and saying that I was brought in low, and the Lord helped me? He has heard my cry. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him. I am helped: therefore, I am greatly rejoicing and will praise him. Almighty God. His wings shall cover you also. When we went through, depression and discouragement, remember the Lord Send help on our way. Moses got the help to win over the adversaries, and he built an altar and called its name, Jehovah Nissi "The-LORD-Is-My-Banner";  Ex. 17: 15; why do worry at present? Let’s declare: God is in control.

      “Whatever we do……

Give thanks to the Lord.

(1 CORINTHIANS 3)            07/08/2018

Maturing (1–4).

We never grow enough by the nourishing milk of the Word (1 Pet. 2:2).

However, we can grow strong with the “solid food” (Heb. 5:12–14; Matt. 4:4).

You should increase by eating and exercising (1 Tim. 4:6–8). Spiritual maturity is

not relying on a person’s Age. The age of a person is not a matter at all for spiritual maturity.

If you are checking out the spiritual blessing for a matured Christian, see through the next points below:-

Harvesting (5–9).

Everybody has a place in the harvest of the Lord. Like Jesus do the work of God. (John 4:34–38). There must be no competing or comparing in the work of the Lord. God alone recognizes the work and gives the reward. It makes no difference who the servant. Jesus Christ is Lord of the harvest.

Building (10–17).

Paul writes about the local church. Look at the materials we use into it as a minister for the growth of the church (Prov. 2:1–5; 3:13–15). Substituting (Exchanging) man’s wisdom for God’s Word for building the local church. We are helping to make the church with perishable materials, and that will burn up at the judgment seat of Christ.

Glorifying (18–23).

Because the Corinthian believers praise human teachers (1:12) and human wisdom, they are robbing God’s glory that rightly belonged to Him. “Let no one boast in men” is a command, not a suggestion.

Are you the matured minister (believer) in Christ? Are you ready to receive the reward for the work you do for building the local body believers? What is your ultimate goal for developing and helping the church to thrive? God invested grace in you. Be fruitful, multiply and glorify Him.
